Exhibition December 2015
Every day, people take to the Chao Phraya River. Whether it is to commute to work, pray at the riverside temples, visit palaces, shop at local markets or boutiques, relax in luxury hotels, or wander historic neighbourhoods and old town streets, the activities of Bangkok’s citizens are made possible by the river. The capital’s main waterway is the lifeblood of the city connecting history and culture, industry and economy, leisure and tourism. The majestic river is at the center of the capital’s urban ecosystem. And it is time to help it tell its stories.
This year, Bangkok River is kicking off its very first street photography competition. Street photography is one that features the human condition within public places. While people are usually featured directly, street photography can also focus on an object or the environment where the image projects a decidedly human character in context or aesthetic. We want to achieve two things. One is for you to capture moments of life on Bangkok’s river in the most unique way that tells a intriguing story. The other is to help you show the world your talent and keen eyes.
Each week, our judges will repost their chosen best and share with local media. At the end of the 60 days, the best of the best will be printed and featured in a exhibition in Central Embassy in Bangkok throughout December.
