Thai-Chinese-Australian Chef Pam (Pichaya Utharntharm) was brought up in Bangkok but her culinary career started when she moved to the USA, training in three Michelin stars, Jean‑Georges restaurant.

With a number of international accolades under her apron, Chef Pam returned home to open a restaurant in her ancestral home. Situated in the heart of Yaowaraj, the ambience of PATONG is an infusion of New York glamour and Chinatown spirit.

When built, the five-story SINO-Portuguese design shophouse with its multiple terraces, stood proud in Chinatown. Home to four generations, spanning over 100 years, Chef Pam’s family lived here while producing Chinese medicine product under the name “保坤益母藥” (bǎo kūn yì mǔ yào) since 1910.

With POTONG (roughly translating as “simple”), Chef Pam has create an exceptional and extraordinary experience: honouring her ancestors, celebrating Thai and Chinese traditional dishes and produce, and demonstrating her culinary skills learnt around the world.

The 35-seat restaurant on two levels treats diners to set menus of 20-courses, changing with the seasons. Soon a cafe will welcome guests throughout the day on street level. On the 4th a cocktail bar, and above outdoor seating and rooftop garden.
