MOST Gallery is a creative space dedicated to photography located in the heart of the Creative District. The gallery is but one project by digital marketing consulting MOST 2414, whose office is above the gallery itself in an old shophouse in Charoenkrung near Thailand Creative and Design Center (TCDC) in the Grand Postal Office, River City Bangkok, JUA, and other establishments in the district. MOST Gallery occupies one floor of the building and has been bringing in established and emerging photographers to showcase their affective works that often surprise visitors. This is a result of the history of MOST, its values, and beliefs, all of which have impacted its curation.
MOST originally started out representing photographers, film directors, illustrators, and visual artists for the editorial and commercial industries in Southeast Asia. Their idea was to offer to brands and advertising agencies a portfolio of talents who were more than just good executors of commercial images. Their artists, local and international, had a strong personality in their works, and sat in between the commercial and art worlds. Their images were stories. It’s from here that MOST takes its name: Management of Storytellers. MOST eventually evolved and changed. The company now offers services in brands consulting, digital marketing, and creative solutions. Today, it no longer represents artists but continue to work with some of them for clients. MOST Gallery is now the company’s platform to promote photographers and sometimes artists of other mediums.
In 2016, MOST Gallery opened its doors and exhibited hand-crafted Chinese lanterns made by a local artisan and designed with patterns by five illustrators. Since then, it has exhibited paintings, sculptures, and design works. However, the gallery’s main focus is photography. It curated the first solo exhibition of Chinese photographer and poet Ren Hang. Fashion themes have also been shown through the works of Thai-German photographer Benya Hegenbarth and Italian Alessio Cocchi (Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo). In 2019, Zhang Kechun, one of the most talented Asian contemporary photographers, joined the ever-growing list of strong exhibitors at MOST Gallery to present his work to Bangkokians.
