Alain Ducasse, one of the world’s most decorated chefs, makes his mark for the first time in Bangkok with ‘Blue by Alain Ducasse’ and its unique menus.

Mentioning Alain Ducasse within the fine dining circle brings excited chatter and rightfully so. One of the world’s greatest and most decorated chefs and an iconic mentor-chef to tens of other Michelin star chefs around the world, Chef Ducasse has been inventing new menus and surprising diners since 1980 when he took on his first position as chef. He was the first chef in the world to win 3 Michelin stars for a hotel restaurant and the first ever have three restaurants awarded with 3 Michelin stars at the same time. Bangkokians can now rejoice as Chef Ducasse finally opened ‘Blue by Alain Ducasse’, his first restaurant in Thailand at ICONLUXE, ICONSIAM.

In the words of Chef Ducasse said, “‘Blue by Alain Ducasse’ is unique to this city and with its own particular identity.  It has a contemporary French menu that I personally conceived, using carefully selected ingredients, and to be enjoyed in a magnificent setting with inspiring views over the Chao Phraya River that, together, deliver an unforgettable experience.” Highlights of the current menu includes Sea Scallops from Hokkaido with Herbs, Salad and Truffled Vinaigrette, Blue Crab with Tomato Water Gelée and Gold Caviar, and Grilled Lobster with Savoy Cabbage and Gala Apple. In all, ‘Blue by Alain Ducasse’ is working with more than 45 small suppliers and artisans and procure special ingredients from specific sources that will delight patrons.

‘Blue by Alain Ducasse’’s interior decoration is a sensory delight designed by Jouin Manku – a Parisian spatial design studio led by French designer Patrick Jouin and Canadian architect Sanjit Manku who have designed all of Alain Ducasse’s 3 Michelin star restaurants. Blues, golds, creams, and natural wood dominate the palette, putting patrons at ease and enveloping them in comfort. The flow from the welcoming wood-panelled foyer to the lounge surrounded by walnut and brass lamps, and finally to the main dining area with luxurious royal blue and a glorious view of the river and city augments the dining experience, elevating it to one of total sensory stimulation.
