  • ART Space is located under the ballroom, before reaching the riverside Brasserie Palmier French restaurant

ART Space is a partnership between Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok and MOCA BANGKOK ( Museum of Contemporary Art).

Under the joint initiative, the gallery will showcase a selection of impeccably curated Thai works of art, on loan from MOCA BANGKOK. Exhibits will rotate regularly, so Bangkok residents as well as international visitors can see the best of MOCA on the Chaophraya River.

Kanachai Bencharongkul, Managing Director of MOCA Bangkok is excited about what this new space will mean for the art scene in Bangkok. “The ART Space we created at Four Seasons is highly experiential and seamlessly integrated into the surroundings, making it a unique exhibit in the city,” he explains. “We’re delighted to introduce a new way for people to engage with Thailand’s most interesting artists.”

MOCA BANGKOK

Assembling the long history of Thai arts is the lifelong passion of Mr.Boonchai Bencharongkul. The inspiration for MOCA was to celebrate and appreciate the great favour of King Rama 9 and to honour “Father of Thai Contemporary Arts” or Professor Silpa Bhirasri.

From a design standpoint, the building portrays the idea that it has been aesthetically carved from a single piece of granite. The most striking feature of the building is the openwork carvings which adorn either side of the facade, resembling enchanting plumes of jasmine cascading down the wall. The gaps between the jasmine plumes let in natural light tracing the patterns of the carved walls on the floor of the atrium, while revealing in full measure the excellence of the workmanship which can give a different feeling in different seasons.

MOCA BANGKOK is located on the approach to Don Muang airport at the north of the city. You can reach MOCA by car or the new train line with a station within a short walk of the museum.
