AIR is the artist in resident zone on the 3rd floor of River City Bangkok - a space dedicated to creativity and fresh thinking. A place for Bangkok’s artists to work and for art lovers to explore, the seven studios are the newest create, share, teach, and learn space for the riverside art center.

Visitor AIR and speak to the artists about their inspirations, get a greater understanding of their creative process. If you are looking for a sculpture or painting for your home or office, all works of art are for sales. For budding artists or hobbyists, AIR is an opportunity to exchange ideas and knowledge. In the coming months, the artist in residence will host workshops and art classes.

Studios are offered to Bangkok artists on rotation. To find out more about the selection process and rotation schedule, contact to Khun Nuttaphol Yingaree at River City.

The first rotation of AIR studios are:

PAINT FAH – Studio 311
Fourteen-year-old artist, Paintfah Chanchutiwanit’s talent and passion for art were evident from an early age. With the support from her parents, Fah is now a professional artist who has participated in many solo and group exhibitions. Her unique style adorns canvas, tote bags, and t-shirts.

BAAN SILOM – Studio 312
Baan Silom is a contemporary art studio that represents nine Thailand-base artists, all with their own particular style – from abstract to Thai traditional paintings. Artist lineup includes Banluesak​ Sujjajarearnchai​, Chawtip Sriswadpong, Wasan Kramsri, Kanya Batsrima, Sarawut Srimungkala, Suchart Kraithong, Winya Juntapon, Pichartjeamrustsanakul and Thawaratt Samargachandra.

956 CONTEMPORARY ART – Studio 313
Room 313 is the studio and gallery of Chalah Chaveesuk, a talented Thai artist who merges the art of meditation with the art of painting. This method of working is quite new and untraditional – a new branch of contemporary abstract painting category. Khun Chalah is currently exhibiting his series “Abstract Meditationism”.

GALLERY HOC – Studio 314
Gallery Hoc is founded by three artists each with very different styles but all of whom graduated from Silpakorn University. Having worked closely for quite some time, they decided to establish their studio and gallery in the AIR zone of River City Bangkok this month. Prania Kasemtavornsilpa’s work features wax crayon and acrylic paint on canvas. Sunisa Assawinrungroj work is free-hand embroidery. Gulached Kaochaimaha’s focus is on surrealism.

TY GALLERY – Studio 317
In Room 317 you’ll find the paintings and sculptures of Kongsak Poonpholwattanaporn. His paintings combine graffiti and collage; the sculptures are shaped to the artist’s signature character. Meet with the artist and discuss about his inspiration at TY Gallery.

J02 Gallery – Studio 318
Paitoon Jumee paints with acrylic on canvas, applying a special technique to create a layering of colors. For Paitoon, his technique elevates the beauty of his subject. Before becoming a part of AIR, Paitoon exhibited in Melbourne, Australia.

ThingsThatBringYouJoy – Studio 357
The opening of AIR marks the return of Olga Tapiola to painting following a six-year break. Olga, a psychologist from Ukraine, has lived in Bangkok for past three years. This year, spurred on to paint during the coronavirus lockdown, Oya has created eight pieces which she has titled “Dancing through difficulties, dancing towards the unknown”.
