Like to visit a part of Bangkok you never knew existed, hear stories of pioneers and merchant families from centuries ago, discover leafy gardens and community spaces in hidden parts of the city?

Guided by your local expert from Abercrombie & Kent, your walk starts at Bangkok’s famous Pak Klong Talad flower market. You’ll then cross the city’s newest green space and garden walk built on an abandoned railway bridge. Learn about native Thai medicinal plants such as hog plum trees and crown flower plants as we cross over to the Thonburi side of the river. Meander streets of aa riverside neighbourhood where well-lived-in houses are adorned with sacred symbols and ornaments, reflecting a strong Chinese ancestry. You’ll visit a local mosque and take a stroll through a quaint community garden with a small museum that reveals aspects of Thai Royal Family history. You’ll stop off for refreshments at a charming family-run café that was once a fish sauce company. Continue through the community, passing eclectic street art, old merchant’s houses and rice barns before heading back to the river where the walk ends.
