Read moreOn the occasion of 200th anniversary of U.S. –Thai friendship, the U.S. Embassy in Thailand in collaboration with ICONSIAM invites everyone to enjoy a music performance by the U.S. Air Force Band of the Pacific and the Royal Thai Navy Music Band Division. The bands, consisting of professional musicians who also fulfill military functions, have come together for the celebration of Independence Day 2019 and U.S. –Thai friendship at River Park, ICONSIAM. Interested audiences are invited to join for free.
In the event, the U.S. Air Force Band of the Pacific and the Royal Thai Navy Music Band Division will perform beautiful songs for everyone to enjoy with the stunning view of the Chao Phraya River. The songs to be performed include Somewhere Over the Rainbow, What a Difference a Day Made, Beyond the Sea, and royal-composed songs of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great including Near Dawn (Klai-roong), Falling Rain (Sai-Fon), and Hungry Man’s Blues.
The United States Air Force Band of the Pacific was established over 50 years ago at Eglin Field, Florida by the joint alliance of musical-talented cadres. Currently, the band is made up of the popular music group called the Pacific Trends, the Pacific Showcase jazz ensemble, and other groups. The band gives an average of 200 performances a year for over 125,000 people annually. The band’s performances have included programs for His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and musical support for the Southeast Asia Treaty Organization.
