The pieces were borrowed from the Nevyansk Icon Museum, Russia’s first private museum of icons. They will display the transformation of the icon over its lifetime, from the 18th century to early 20th century. The opening ceremony will include a speech by the Russian Ambassador and a performance by the Orthodox Church Choir.
