2020's Theme: "LAST MEAL ON EARTH"

C’mon, hold your loved ones close and your hash browns closer—it’s Mad Face 2020: Last Meal on Earth.

Global warming. PM 2.5. Trump. The world is pretty messed up, ya’ll. But as long as we’re breathing, we’ll be eating. No matter your stance on paleo or politics, put aside your differences and your doctor’s advice for a 3-day feast inspired by the end times.

This year, we asked our MAD FACE food makers to imagine and present their “Last Meal on Earth.” What sort of fatty, sweet, or sauce-laden goodness would make their final moments worthwhile? Which salty, soupy, or deep-fried dish would be their greasy kiss goodbye? If tomorrow never came, would they really stick to that acai bowl? Hey, who are we to judge? We’re just here for the food, of which there will be plenty: 50 vendors, each serving unique menus in addition to their doom’s day dishes (no repeats—we promise).

100 BAHT – GET ONE DRINK (Free For Under 18)

MAD FACE FOOD WEEK is an annual event that brings together the most compelling and, frankly, mad players and personalities in the local F&B family. The 3-day gathering serves up a fresh perspective on Bangkok’s eating scene, one not driven by awards or “best” lists but by characters, community, and a healthy dash of crazy. This is the food festival where chefs and cooks cut loose, create what they want, and have a dance-off with their diners along the laid-back Chao Praya River.
