The acclaimed choreographer Jitti Chompee is well-known for his contemporary dance creations, wherein which he incorporates classical Thai Khon mask dancing with modern aesthetics.

In this lecture, Jitti will demonstrate with examples how he draws inspiration from the highly stylized Khon dance. His work aims to renew the dance vocabulary and use it to tell his own stories. He shows the possibilities of creating a visual language based on the power of traditions and the beauty of classical forms.
