Read moreIn a continuation of the ‘Art in Resonance’ programme, The Peninsula Bangkok welcomes the Thai-born artist, Narissara Pianwinmungsa as artist in residence for February and March. ‘The Gravity of Thoughts’ explores her feelings about the power of nature and her state of mind as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Narissara expresses her ideas through her new fabric installation – a sculpture made of calicoe hanging from the ceiling, its shape and hand embroidery inspired by ripples on the surface of the Chao Phraya River. The exhibition also features three other embroidery works in The Peninsula Bangkok’s Lobby and Artist Studio
Graduated with an Masters of Fine Art in painting from Silpakorn University, Narissara is known for the figurative paintings which featured in the Thai film ‘February’, shot in 2003 in New York. Her expansive artistic repertoire includes poetry, drawing, painting and street art.
