For its 2020 showcase, the Bangkok based woodwork designer collective Grains & Grams proudly presents Transmigration – an exhibition of furniture installations by Nanu Youttananukorn (TH) and Maxime Goleo (FR). Transmigration in the spiritual sense is the movement of a soul into another body after death. The makers’ interpretation of this theme is embedded within the process of production. Both Nanu Youttananukorn (TH) and Maxime Goleo (FR) working with wood that are either used, found, unwanted or reclaimed. Central in their methodology of this particular series is the adaptation of form into purpose, finding a new life in an otherwise neglected piece of timber.
