From 24 June 2019 – 31 December 2019:
Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok’s Executive Pastry Chef Christoph Widmer is delighted to present one of his most exciting creations, a special set of 70% dark chocolate bars, using sustainable and locally sourced cocoa beans from the four regions of Thailand, together with USDA-certified organic sugar. Rich with powerful antioxidants, polyphenols and flavanols, the chocolate bar set is available at The Chocolate Boutique in lobby floor. Prices start from THB 100 per piece.
Meticulously crafted using the hand to hand concept, Chef Christoph’s new chocolate bar delights come from four Thai provinces including Chiang Mai, Chumporn, Chanthaburi and Prachuab Khiri Khan.
• The Chiang Mai is made with cacao from a farm in Doi Saket, giving sweets lovers a blend of floral and aromatic fruity scent and crunchy fruits.
• The Chumporn uses cacao harvested from a veteran plantation in Chumporn province. The chocolate bar consists of a rich chocolate base, with a crisp nutty flavour and the fluffy hint of local bananas as well as a slight of acidity which each bite a refreshing one.
• The Chanthaburi province is considered as one of the best in the country to plant tropical fruits.
• The Prachuab Khiri Khan’s cacao beans are sourced directly from the farmers, providing us the unique flavour and aroma of pineapple and coconut for which this region is famous.
